A crow built a nest
in a tree. There was a pit below the tree. In that pit lived a snake.
When the crow was away, the snake climbed the tree. It ate up the crow’s eggs.
The crow cried. She could not drive away the snake.
"How can I save the eggs?" thought she. The crow saw a necklace lying on the veranda of a king’s palace. She snatched the necklace. She flew off with it.The palace servants saw her. They chased the crow with sticks.
