Introduction
The, human and universal aspects of the life of Shri Ramakrishna,
great saint of Bengal and of his famous disciple Shri Vivekananda have been chronicled in
a number of wellknown books. Shri R. R. Diwakar has presented, as he says, a human
document, steering clear of such elements as usually make us feel out our hero is not of
the earth and that he is unapproachable.
Shri Diwakar observes : - "After all, the highest service tohumanity that his life and teaching can render today is, make humanity feel that here lived one amidst us who was the flesh of our flesh and the blood of our blood; that he attained an inner poise of personality which could be the envy of gods and supermen, and that his means were such as are always available to those that can dare and do.
