Akbar Page1

The Rule Of Akbar in the sixteenth century was a landmark in the history of India. Among the Mughal emperors who ruled India he was the most outstanding for his many qualities of head and heart, the chief among them being his full identification with the needs and aspirations of the Indian people.

Babar was the founder of the Mughal empire in India. He was able to establish it after defeating the Lodis in the battle of Panipet in 1526. Babar's son Humayun was driven from his kingdom by Sher Shah when he fled to Sind to organise a come-back with the aid of friends.

During his wanderings in Sind, Humayun married Hamida Begum of whom was born Akbar in 1542 while Humayun was retreating from the enemy.
