The best punishment for those who do evil to you, is to shame them by
returning good for evil. This may appear to be a platitude. Actual experiment will
disclose how practical and effective the advice it. The pain felt by the wrongdoer in his
shame is greater than any that anger could inflict on him.

if it does not make a man feel the pain of others as keenly as the pain in his own body
and avoid causing it? When a man has experienced pain and knows what it is how can he
bring himself wantonly to cause pain to others?

the forenoon returns to him that very afternoon. The law of cause and effect brings
unfailing retribution to the sinner.
