R.S.S. : A Vision In Action (Reprint, December 1988)

The publication of the present book on the last Vijayadashami-which also marked the beginning of the countrywide celebrations of the birth centenary of Dr. Hedgewar, the founder of RSS-indeed proved to be a blessing in more than one respect.

The book, even while focusing on the dynamic role of Sangh Swayamsevaks in the ongoing movement of all-round national renaissance of Bharat, has sought to project the vision and the line of action bequeathed by Dr. Hedgewar. It was natural that the discerning public eager to understand Dr. Hedgewar in depth should have found the present publication timely. The relevance and the importance of the theme of the book were further highlighted by eminent personalities who released the book at the centenary inaugural functions in several major cities of the country. We take this opportunity of expressing our heartfelt thanks to all such personalities and organisers of the functions for extending their hand of co-operation to us.

The fact that all the copies of the first edition were sold out within a matter of days indicates that the work has met a long-felt need. This reassuring experience has been further buttressed by the continuing demand for more copies from many parts of the country.

We are thankful to friends who have drawn our attention to a few inaccuracies and typographical errors which had crept in. These have been corrected in this reprint.

Readers will be happy to know that we have already accorded permission to publishers in several states for bringing out the book in their respective languages. Some of the vernacular editions are scheduled to be in the market during the present centenary year itself.
