Sakuntala was the
foster daughter of Kanva Rishi. They lived in an ashram in a forest. King Dushyanta
came to the ashram one day. He married Sakuntala.
He gave her his gold ring. He returned to his capital.Then he forgot about Sakuntala.
One day Sakuntala set out to see the King with the gold ring. On the way the ring fell
into a river. She looked for it. She could not find it. She returned to the ashram.
One day a fisherman caught a fish in the river. He found the ring in the belly of the
fish.
