Rishi Veda Vyasa wrote the eighteen puranas. Even after writing them, he was not satisfied. He felt
that his life's mission� was incomplete.
While he was ruminating thus, rishi Narada came to him.
Seeing him in a dejected mood Narada asked, "O Sage! I see from-your face that
something worries your mind. What may� that be, tell me."
Vyasa bowed to Narada and said: "O Great Sage, you are right in your guess. Even
after writing the eighteen puranas, I� do not have that peace of mind which I long
for. I feel a blank in my mind. Why it is so, I cannot say."
