Introduction
Srivilliputhur, famous for the temple of Sri Andal and Vatapatrasayee, is situated 50 miles south of Madurai on the Virudunagar - Tenkasi chord line of the Southern Railway. This is a Municipal town having fine rest-house, choultries and boarding and lodging houses for pilgrims Regular bus service connects this town with Madurai, Tenkasi, Tiruneveli and Sattur.
This place is surrounded by many important temples. To the south west of the town there is a big Siva temple. In the southeast, Lord Navaneeta. Krishna with Rukrnini and Satyabhama delights the pilgrims with his darsan in a small temple.
