Temples and Legends of Andhra Pradesh Page10

Pururavas at that time conceived the idea that, in order to look out for the Lord, he must do some penance. He therefore spread the Darbhasana across, on a flat rock and along with his beloved Urvashi he entered upon a Prayopavesa meditating all the time upon the Lord, and praying for the Lord's Darshan, and was thus doing tapascharya without food or water. The king was in deep meditation for three days, and at the end of it, he saw the Lord in his dream, who told Pururavas that there was an ant-hill in front of the king in which the Lord's image was buried and that the king should offer all sacred things like flowers, sandal wood, music, lighted lamps, scented smoke etc., to the Lord.
