Arati (Arati).. An extremely commonplace temple ritual. There are two parts to it. One is singing of a
prayer and the other waving of the lights before the god.
Asana (Asana). . A Seat.
Ashram (Asrama). . The dwelling of a spiritual preacher where he himself and his pupils live.
Ashvathha (Asvartha). . The pipal tree.
Astra (Astra). . A supernatural weapon.
Asur (Asura). . A demonic people.
Atithi (Atithi). . A guest.
Avatar (Avatara). . Incarnation.
Avatarana (Avatarana). . Descent. (Especially of the Ganges or some other river from the
heavens.)
Ayudha (Ayudha). . A weapon as far as Iconographic preferences go it means an attribute of a deity.
