Born again and again,
Dying over and over again,
And getting into a mother's womb over and
over again.
It is hard to cross over this ocean of
repeated life and death.
Save me from merciful Lord!
This is Sri Sankara's next song.
Let us beg for His grace, He will surely
protect us. He will surely take us across the Ocean of births and deaths. If
Sri Sankara himself who reached the heights of spiritual knowledge cried out that nothing
could protect except His grace, what can men of little knowledge have to say? Let us
worship Him, and seek His grace. We shall be saved. Why think of other means? That is what
the Gita also declare:
Giving up all Paths, surrender yourself
completely to me. I shall save You from every sin, do not grieve.
Maa suchah means 'do not grieve'. This is
the declaration of the Lord Himself not only to Arjuna, but also to entire mankind.
