The following
essay on " Mysticism, Nature, and Morality " was written several� years
ago. The author is, at present, unable to recall the exact year of the production, but he
does remember that it was written shortly after he heard a stirring lecture on mysticism
from a visiting professor at the University of Washington.
The author might have written the essay in� any event, but the lecture he
heard had definitely the effect of hastening his action in putting together his thoughts
on the subject and in crystallizing them in written form.�The author remembers that
the essey was written in one sitting and without any labour of research or the assistance
of notes of� any kind. It is largely a work of intuition and personal assessment of a
rather uncommon but vitally significant subject.�
