Janaka was the king of Mithila.
He was a very wise king.
Sumedha was his queen.
Once Janaka ploughed his field for a Yaga.
While ploughing he found a lovely baby girl under the plough.
He took the baby home. He brought the baby girl up as his daughter.
He named her Seeta. She was also called Janaki.
She grew up to be a beautiful and a good girl.
The king began to think about her marriage.
He decided to choose her husband by a test of skill and strength.
