Even in jest do not entertain the wish
to make an enemy of any one.
It is ever a bad thing to get into hostile
relationship with others.
The hostility of soldiers is not so bad as
that of men whose weapon is their word.
Solyer uzhavar, those who 'plough
with the word,' obviously referring to plotters and politicians, perhaps writers also.
It is worse than madness for one that has
no allies, to make numerous enemies.
If you have no allies, and you are faced
with two enemies, immediately make it up with either of them and make of him a fast
friend.
