Rishi Veda Vyasa wrote the eighteen puranas. Even after writing them, he was not satisfied. He felt that his life's mission  was incomplete.

While he was ruminating thus, rishi Narada came to him.

Seeing him in a dejected mood Narada asked, "O Sage! I see from-your face that something worries your mind. What may  that be, tell me."

Vyasa bowed to Narada and said: "O Great Sage, you are right in your guess. Even after writing the eighteen puranas, I  do not have that peace of mind which I long for. I feel a blank in my mind. Why it is so, I cannot say."
