Have you heard the Songs of Mira sung in bhajans? They are beautiful and moving.

Mira was one of the greatest poet-saints of India. She had seen God face to face.

She was born in 1547 in the village of Kurkhi in Marwar. She was the daughter of a Rana or a Rajput Chief.

When she was just three years old, a sanyasi came to her home and presented a small idol of Lord Krishna to her father.

Child Mira was fascinated by the idol and wanted to have it for herself. When the Rana said 'no' she refused to take food.

At last the Rana gave it to her.
