To
the north of the main temple, are shrines of the Goddesses. Adjacent to these is the
Paryanka Griha, which is built in the shape of an octagon. There are figures and forms
that are sculptured on this, which are said to have been carried out by Timmanayudu, out
of the presents given to him by the Vijayanagar King Sri Aliya Ramaraju. The temples have
many important festivals, the most important being the Narakachaturthi and Brahmotsava
that fall in the month of October. In the Siva temple, the Vijayadasami and the
Brahmotsava are celebrated in September and February. |
