PALI - BALLALESWAR MANDIR

THE TEMPLE

The present temple is exceedingly beautiful vast in dimensions and imposing in stature. The famous Peshwa Morda Dada endowed it lavishly. The Lord's image is facing east with trunk turned left. It is adorned with dazzling diamonds, and here Siddhi and Buddhi are in standing posture weaving chamaras.

As the miraculous sports of the Lord relieved the unfortunate, the temple scaled unimaginable heights in fame. Many reverent traditions are introduced and periodical festivals conducted on an unprecedented scale that are luring lakes of people. There is a belief current that Vinayaka actually comes in physical body on the Maghasuddha Chathurthi to participate in the grandiose festival and partake Naivedya. Hence uncontrollable crowds then. Many maharshis and devout bhaktas availed the darsan of the Lord. Among the eight kshetras, its place is beyond the range of description, says the priest in a vociferous tone.

It is in the Kolaba district of Maharastra, accessible by bus.
