The very act of giving gives joy to the giver and receiving a favour
causes pain to the receiver. This is inherent in human nature, apart from any consequences
as promised in Scripture. This is a characteristic instance of the Tiru-Valluvar approach.
He always reserves for emphasis some aspect, which is not bound up with religious beliefs.
You may find it unpleasant to be approached for charity. But that is
only until you see the radiant face of the man whose distress you have relieved. When you
see that face, you will feel that A was indeed good fortune that you had the chance and
the Power to create so much joy.
