The following
verses recognize restraint in eating as the great secret of good health. Modern science
has confirmed the importance of the advice. If we eat only after making sure that what has
been already eaten has been digested, no drugging will be required to keep the body in
good health. Make sure that the previous meal has
been digested, and wait till you are quite hungry. Then eat what you have found to agree
with your health.
Some good things are not good for all, nor are they good at
all times or when eaten in excess. Hence, the wise man uses his own personal experience,
judges what is suitable, and rejects what does not agree with him.
Indicates that the mere craving to eat something is not
enough to show that the stomach is ready, but one should wait for a good sharp hunger. |
