SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE |
|
With the help of
the Germans, he raised an Indian legion and broadcast from a secret radio, station called
Azad Hind Radio, urging Indians to rise in revolt against the British.
He coined the term 'Jai Hind' as greeting for his legion who called him Netaji or the
revered leader.
Bose's sensational escape and his broadcasts from Berlin stirred the people of India to
action.
Netaji met the war leaders Hitler and Mussolini, besides their commanders from whom he
sought help for the liberation
of India. He wanted them to make a joint "declaration against the British in India
but did not succeed. He founded IndiaCentres in Rome and Paris. |
