Sri Krishna
also bathed here, and earned-Gods blessing.
Setu is another name for Rameswaram.
People from all parts of the country go there on pilgrimage.
They bring the Ganga-jal from Kasi and bathe god Rameswara in it.
Kasi in the north and Rameswaram in the south are almost at the opposite ends of India.
Our forefathers often went on pilgrimage from one to the other. They went on foot because
there were no buses or trains in olden days. |
