Yet earlier astronomical eras than
these are mentioned but these two have numerous references to
substantiate them. They prove that the Vedic culture existed at the time
of the Harappan culture and already had a sophisticated system of
astronomy.
Such references were merely ignored or pronounced unintelligible
by Western scholars because they yielded too early a date for the
Vedas than what was presumed, not because such references did
not exist. One point raised by Western scholars was that there
was nothing archeological to substantiate such positions and the
dates reveal. Now we see there is indeed that archeological evidence
through the Harappan or Sarasvati civilization.
