One
is considered the best yogi who regards every being like himself,
and who can feel the pain and pleasures of others. One should
consider all living beings as one's own parents, brothers, sisters,
children.(6.32)
The Supreme Lord said: Undoubtedly, O
Arjuna, the mind is restless and difficult to control, but
it can be subdued by sincere spiritual practice such as meditation,
and by detachment. (6.35)
The unsuccessful yogi is instinctively
carried towards God in the next life by virtue of the impressions of
yogic practices of previous lives. No spiritual effort is ever
wasted. (6.44)
I consider one to be the most devoted of
all the yogis who lovingly remembers Me with faith, and whose mind
is ever absorbed in Me.(6.47)
CHAPTER SUMMARY: Defines yoga, teaches
how to meditate and control the mind, gives the benefits of
meditation and the destiny of unsuccessful yogis.
