AKIRIPALLI

One of the Sukritams is the digging of the Akiripalli Pushkarani. From the inscription it is seen that it belongs to the fifteenth century and hence the Varaha Pushkarani and Akiripalli have been famous from those days even.

The temple has got a temple car, which is dragged every year on Rathasaptami day. It has a Pushpavanam of seven acres extent from which flower is taken for the worship of the Lord.

The main festivals are the Maghotsavam or the Nammalwar' Adhyayanotsava which falls between Pushya Bahula Ekadashi to the Magha Suddha Saptami.

On every day the Lord will be carried out, and Adhyayayanotsavam will be conduc- ted. Afterwards Gramotsavam on Vaha- nams will be conducted.

On the Rathasaptami day the temple car also will be taken out.The Kartika Pournami which falls in November is also an impor- tant festival day when Visesha Deepar- adhana will be conducted from the top to the bottom of the temple.

The temple is famous as representing the unity of Lord Vishnu and Lord Siva and still attracts thousands of pilgrims.
