SABARIMALA

The hill-to of Ayyappa at Sabarimala -
Lastly, the temple doors of Sabarimala are open to all, irrespective of caste, creed, religion and social status. Here, the high and the low, the rich and the poor, meet on equal terms; all are alike-Ayyappas as the devotees are called after the deity it.

The essence of the Ayyappa cult thus lies in its unique stress on healthy asceticism, religious fervor and the spirit of equality and camaraderie permeating one and all.
