Kamsa found all
his plans going awry. He fumed and fretted. He asked his men to put Nanda in
prison, to execute Vasudeva. He did not even spare his own father Ugrasena who took sides
with his enemies. Krishna could no longer bear these
harshwords. He leaped to the terrace, caught hold of Kamsa like Garuda grasping a
king cobra and threw him to the ground. He then fell on him and holding his neck in
his two hands crushed the life out of him.
At the same time heavenly music was heard. The devas
showered flowers on the brothers. The entire city of Mathura was full of joy and
happiness, having been rid of its wicked king. Krishna thus accomplished the very
purpose of his avatara. |
