PRABHASA IN HISTORICAL TRADITION |

On
the West Coast, Prabhasa was the most sacred of all places in the days of the Bharata war.
Even the rishis-the sages-collected there.3 It was the favoured spot of two gods;
Indra and Surya.4 It had the quality of removing all sins; a sea-bath at Prabhasa led one
to heaven. The Pandavas came to this sacred spot and performed austerities. So did Shri
Krishna and Balarama; Arjuna also came here from Gokarna on his way to Dwarka.5
