TIRUVALANCHUZHI

The Vinayaka made of this white foam is known as Vellai Pillaiar (Vellai means white and Pillaiar, Vinayaka.). This is a very rare
color for Vinayaka, probably the only instance. Indra carried this Vinayaka to Indraloka and worshipped him there. When he came out on a pilgrimage, on account of the curse in the Ahalya episode, he came to this place, now known as Tiruvalanchuzhi, which is
on the banks of the river Arasalan on the way from Swamimalai railway station to the Swamimalai temple, with the idol of Vinayaka.
