If
pages of history are turned, we come across certain purple patches embodying
monumental activities of a few possessing peerless character adorned with a halo
round their heads mirroring their super humanism. The standing example of
marshal-monk-monarch Asoka justifies selection and suffices the purpose. His
catholicity and religiocity are emulated by none so far. in their entirety at
it. His contribution though excelled the unexcelled ones, it confined to
Buddhism, of course. the off-spring of the much adorable Hinduism.
But,
if one who embraced and patronised a religion diametrically opposing his faith,
he must be placed at the highest pedestal for eternal honour. Akbar the great
with his new found Din-i-lahi created splendid record by making Indians adore
and serve him loyally. such examples are rare, but here and there, there are
some twinkling stars, though self-luminous are blinking at the effulgent
splendor of Akbar, the humanist. In the down south there ruled some Muslim
kings, who like mini-stars illumined certain areas and won appreciation from
Hindus for ever. The Sultan Tippu deserves a fitting mention. and Tanisha, the
Nayab of Nizam, is another specimen, whose religious tolerance and inimitable
humanism are adorning the pages of history.
