TIRUVAMATHUR - THE MIRACLE OF CHANGING THE DIRECTION OF RIVER

The Mother's miracles are many and this tops the list. Defaulters who reform themselves by burning their commission in the fire of repentance, are saved, and the Mother rewards them though her miracles. And they are many. Here is an example.

Once, a poet by name Errattir praised the Mother in his song, laying stress on her compassion to the pious devotees. Unfortunately there was an error in his composition. It is--the river Pampa is separated from Penna on the western side. In fact, it is one the eastern side it is bifurcated. Some of the critics took objection to it, showing concrete proof of the flowing of river. So the poet cried piteously before the Mother that night and confessed that he did not utter it wantonly and it is due to Mother Saraswati's sport, who uttered thus through his mouth. In the same night there was heavy down pour and the river Pampa flooded the banks.
