In
consequence, the processional deity is being carried on the head of the priest
during periodical festivals, both in and out of the campus. So this prohibition
of elephants in the temple in no way reflects the short of temple funds for
maintaining them nor the depletion of devotees' enthusiasm.
Elephants
used for processions lend colour and majesty to the functions and rouse people's
zeal for participation. Royalty and nobility donated elephants to the temples in
the past. Some temples. like Guruvayur and Trissur own scores of pachyderms and
they are conducting elephant races annually to lure devotees and fun - loving
folk.
Location :
The temple lies in Trichambaram accessible by bus from Badagara, Kerala.
