The
Goddess Tuiajabhavani, like her counterpart Sri Krishna of Trichanbaram temple
demands breakfast first soon after opening the temple doors. Though the
sodasopachara puja offered every day to her includes in the list Naivedvam as
lath upachara, she tolerates not delay unduly for hours. She ordained that
breakfast must be offered even without dantha dhavana, snana etc. The temple is
implementing this bidding with unusual ' fervor. Though the exact date can not
be furnished with any certainty, it is being followed with tacit approval.
Ironical it appears that Mother Bhavani punishes not the breakers of good old
injunction of offering Naiveidyam as the 14th upachara in the routine sixteen
prayer services called sodashopachara puja. Very few temples are practicing this
bizarre tradition, and for staunch' orthodox theists. it gives a perk as it is
against the normally accustomed way, of life. When probed. they event not,
but hail it as a commendable tradition deserving emulation, since the archamrti
is quite unique in several awesome practices. She is conceived .as the
Rudraswarupini first and last and so justifies the 'role she is playing since
its installation in the dirt' past. Her ravenous hunger due to strenuous work
she has been doing cares not by-passing the set practice handed town from
