Alas!
Such personification of compassion was jailed and so her free and unrestricted
movements were put to nought. Long back. And for safety of people. It is said
that she was roaming about in the nights then more often than not, assuming
horrid shape and in frightful black dress. She was trampling around the temple
precincts in the dead of night and, particularly on the new moon days. Suddenly
awakened by the heavy steps and harsh sounds, sleeping people in the area used
to rise from beds to see from where the rattling sound was coming. Seeing her in
dreadful shape, they were screaming and scampering. For children the sight used
to be nightmare. The chickenhearted were suffering terribly with one mere sight.
Not a night, nor once in a blue moon this occurrence was harassing them, but
very often. The afflicted and mentally deranged met the priests and the
exorcists to save them from this terrible situation.
