THE WALDEN POND MAHARSHI

'East and West, the twain shall never meet' said once a creative writer of global reputation. It is bereft of truth, cent percent and baseless absolutely, positively, immutably and consistently too. It's nothing but the projection of his colour prejudice; for, it is the East that opened the eyes of the West to the glories of culture, why that alone, everything laudable of theirs, and others too. In fine, it closed down barbarity and opened up civilisation. Mellowed wisdom recognised, assimilated and propagated it with candor, that is peerless. Some illustrious votaries ardently desired to be born in their next life, if there be any, in India to imbibe, inhale, and inherit it to posterity. Their frank submission enriched their culture and glorified our nation. Isn't then their uninhibited exultation emulation worthy? Alas! the ill-digested blind power instead of throwing a halo over its head is placing a crown of thorns. As irony would have it, it alone divinised them.
