THE
AFTERMATH OF 1PASCHATTAPA
Living
as we do amidst glitter, many a mind tends to lose its poise and goes out of
the ken of ethics, If the transgression is of grave nature, consequences prove
disastrous both to be society and to the transgress. Though there are several
agencies to retrieve the defaulter, realisation dawns late. If done, it leads
to genuine repentance; then regrets galore gallop arid culminate in his turning
a new leaf. The reformed if reclaimed thence forward drips divinity. Hence the
statement - Every sinner has a ruture, and every saint has his past.
I
acknowledge my debt to the composition of this tale to Thomas Moore's Lalla
Rookh. A reading of that marvellous piece lifted me up, and when I bent down my
pen on paper, it presented to me a picture in Indian costume, which I liked
most. See whether the outfit suits it not...
