BEDI ANJANEYA SWAMY TEMPLE

" Okay, sorry I haven't made a mention of the Bedi Anjeneya Swamy shrine. Let us now walk from here to avail the darsan of the above. The Bedi Anj aneyaswamy Shrine is an important mandir to be visited, and it is in the sannidhi street facing west and very near Asthana Mandapam of main shrine, enshrining the Lord. It is a single cell shrine with a porch broad enough to accommodate scores of persons. The statue of Bhakta Hanuman, the by-word for fidelity and self - less service in standing posture in anjali pose comes into view as soon we enter the mandir. Pilgrims normally burn camphor on the door steps and pay homage to that angust Anjaneya, the Junior Assistant of Lord Mahavishnu ever in the service, and Garuda, being the senior and permanent mount of the Lord. Going a little further beyond the Vaikuntoranam and just opposite the Annadana Hall, there lies the Kalyana Katta, a majestic four floor building, where the tonsorial operation goes on round the clock. The hair offering is an age old tradition imbued with a great spiritual significance. Offer of hair signifies the shedding of ego and acceptance of the superiority of the master. This is the first stop in the act of total, unconditional, surrender. Devout people, whether vowed or not opt for this,  and after that only enter the shrine taking bath in the pushkarini. Hope some of your party took vows also.'

" Yes Uncle. I will follow in the foot steps of my granny. Shall, we go now?"

" Not now. As tickets for suprabhatam are taken already, you can postpone it to the early hours. And after offering and bath you can avail the suprabhath darsan. Further, tonsure can be done at your cottage by paying Rs. 10/- per head. Do you prefer the barber coming to your place and wake you up at 2-30 a.m. even."

" Better you can arrange for it uncle at our place it self."

" No trouble at all. There are enough men who are ready at mere information. Well then, let us go further for the Gotopadesa venue.  It is with in a walkable distance too."

" I will lead to it as I have seen it already while coming."
