The
serpent too died having stuck up in the trunk. Lord Maheswar then revealed
himself with Gowri beside, and granted them with the fulfillment of desire -
Sayujyamukti in the presence of the gods, including Brahma and Vishnu. Before
joining the Lord's body, they prayed to the Lord to name the place after them
and with the additional request of granting salvation to those, who die on this
sacred land. The Lord sealed it with approval amidst flashes of sweet smiles.
Hence Kalahasti
and with the spider's wish it became Srikalahasti since then, and there are very
few places named likewise in the whole of Bharat Khanda. And Lord Paramasiva's
benevolence too has a quality unique and place enjoying top priority.
