sack on to good traditions built up is hard; to maintain them
unpolluted is harder, and to add some thing productive of general
good to them is hardest. The temple traditions built up in the
dim past call for certain modifications in the light of changing
trends of the modern times. Even if they require alterations, the
purists hesitate acid postpone, but to maintain them in their
prestine purity is a feat Herculean. The Management of Sri Durga
Malleswara Swamy Varla Devdsthanam, Vijayawada merits wholehearted
appreciation for not only keeping up the old traditions, but making
fresh and purposeful traditions under the able and efficient
administrative supervision of the Hindu Religious and Charitable
Endowment Department of A.P. Government, the Devasthanam has been
catering to the public benefit several utilitarian services and
instilling the theistic instincts to a great satisfaction.
