The
final scene was laid in the spacious courtyards of Sri Nagareswaraswamy aalaya.
Under the able guidance of Bhaskaracharya, the fire-pits were prepared and
lighted sufficiently earlier, since nothing should be left to chance, nor gave
opportunity to the emperor to foil the holy self-immolation and Vasavamba's
unshakable determination.
The state machinery under the immediate supervision of
the Kulaguru arranged for the procession of Vasavamba in a well decorated
chariot to be passed through the main streets of the capital. The chariot along
with the duty bound and suitably attired 102 gotrika elders reached the temple
with auspicious hailing throughout its course.
