  DHARMAPURI - SATYA VATHI AALAYAM

The story goes that the chat woman Satya vathi  the wife of, Dharmangada of puranic fame traversed all over Bharatha  Khand and dipped in every holy river to get rid of a terrible curse that changed her husband into a serpent. At last it is her with a single dip in river Godavari her husband regained his original human form. A temple that came in to existence began luring an unending streams of devotees that only registers the peearless sanctity of Godvari water, but the power of her chastity was demonstrated to the world by her making a pillar of sand, when people out of jealousy, circulated the story of her infidelity.
