PHULHER
- GIRIJA MATA SHRINE |
|
The
annual festival held in Phalguna masa is the star attraction of the temple and
is celebrated with great pomp and splendour. During then the pious bhaktas
undertake the sacred, panchakosi yatra - walking nearly fifteen kilometres
covering a string of ancient temples dedicated to Sri Rama and Janaki all
located in the region of Janakpur, like Ahalyasthan, Durgasthan,
Kapileswarasthan, Beraul, Phulher etc. The ennobling feature that characterises
the entire festival is the devotees ineffable reverence extended toMother Sita whom
they endearingly treat her as their daughter and Sri Rama their
son-in-law. Does devotion ever get conformed to one single pattern? Would it
be measured by any means? Fortunate are those who adore the divine couple linking
themselves with pious kinship Adored are liberated, skeptics only dangle
eternally, unable to go up or come down. This temple perpetuating that immortal
tradition
of the first meeting of the divine couple deserves reverent indispensable
visitation and soulful adoration by any deserving to be called MAN.
It lies 60 km off North west of Dharbhanga railway station on the North eastern
railway line accessible by bus.
