Many
legends are in circulation regarding its construction imbued with mysticism. And
here there are many commendable traditions and it is believed that barren women
beget children by following a queer procedure. The Mother is very powerful and
her anger towards the unrighteous and haughty was very fierce, that she did not
leave them go Scot free if offence is committed. Even the river during its
flow assumes placid state at this temple area and regains its turbulence above
and below its course. There are many fascinating and fantastic tales about the
mysterious sports of the Mother and she has been succouring assistance to the
devout timely and abundantly. This is visited by steady streams of pilgrims and
tourists. The Mother's glory is quite wide spread in the whole of Bengal, Bihar
and Orissa. And it is much hallowed miss-not thirtha kshetra of eternal
importance.
It
lies in the Middle of Bengal, accessible by four wheelers.
