  AMBALAPUDI - KALI TEMPLE

The archamurthi is chaturbhuja holding in her four hands disc, conch, sword and panapatra and revealing fierce aspect with terror striking eyes and lolling long tongue. The icon is about four feet in height and giving darsan in standing posture. Daily puja in accordance with tenets of agamas is offered and periodical festivals during Navaratri etc , are celebrated with fanfare due. Tuesdays witness huge crowds and special prayers are offered then. It has some more odd traditions that have become instrumental for its rapid progress. Mother being infinitely benevolent, the adorers are lifted instantly. Hence the
incredible progress.

It lies 10 kms off Udipi, one of the premier pilgrim towns of Karnataka, accessible by town bus.
