honour to pay. Agrapuja to the Acharyas and also directed their subordinates
follow suit. More than Hindus, Muslim rulers, like Hyder and Tippu poured down
their souls and expressed their infinite faith in the divinity of Mutt, and the
Acharyas in charge of it. Archieves are preserving invaluable information that shed light on the exemplary tolerance Hyder and
Tippu-had for this mutt.
And Tippu, particularly made fervent appeals to tile gurus to offer prayers to
the presiding deity and send blessings, so that there might be peace in the
coutry and victory to battle. Besides he sent provisions-and-huge sums to
perform Sahasara Chandipuja for the welfare of the country and bore the entire
cost of feeding of 1000 Brahmin bhaktas a day for 40 days. What a faith! How
much veneration from a Muslim at it. To cap all as it were he sent special
message to the Acharya touring in far off country to hasten to home state for
he opined, and wrote. "In whatever country holy personages like yourself
reside, the country will flourish with good showers and crops.
