The king, of course, scored victory over his
formidable enemy and drove them out of his territory, but the tribals once for
all dispelled the religious darkness from their midst. They turned pure
religionists on account of this holy temple. Their devotional fervour is indeed
inimitable as evidenced by spectacular dance performances they make during the
annual function falling in Feb-March every year. They assemble in large numbers
and participate with great exuberance in several prayer services lasting for days
Besides they are offering regular
worship to Mother Mariamma with rituals of their own. The temple is quite
spacious enough to accommodate thousands at a time and there are many
mini-shrines for other gods. The Mother's icon is a piece of superb artistry and
raises hands in veneration at first sight it self.
It
lies near Wyand, a famous industrial town , accessible by
bus.
