KEDARMANDAL - MAHISHASUR MARDINI MANDIR

On the way the way to Kedarnath, a temple for Chandi is built and is now called popularly as Mahishasura mardini temple. According to story it is here Mahishasura was killed and his mutilated body was thrown on the hilt by the Mother. Sarat and Vasanth Navaratri festivals are celebrated on a grand scale. The temple's rathotsav drawns unmanageable crowds.
