As Mata of this sacred peetha is a sure
Mokshapradayani, the
craze for visiting it is on increase with the passage of time, as evidenced by
building of steps by a pious bhakta for a long distance.
To
reach this holy hill sannidhi one has to travel by bus, walking and boat also.
Above all, it takes two days also. First day, after alighting from bus, the
pilgrim has to walk a distance 5 km. and then comes boat ride. Climbing of the
hill follows which is ardeous and time consuming. By evening he reaches a place
called Tunnas. Luckily, there is a Dharmasala catering to his needs. On the
second day he starts again after bath and tiffin. After climbing the steep hill,
he finds himself near the much sought after Devi Kalimata mandir deemed a Sakti-Peetha of great spiritual significance.
This
Sakti-Peetha lies near Tanakpur Mandi in the Nainital district of Uttar Pradesh
on Pehalkhad - Kanov railway line. The walking part starts from this place.
