Bhadravathi,
an ancient city in the State of Cutch, lying in the North Western
tip of India boasts of many temples of renown built by Rajput kings.
Though they patronised Jainism amazingly well, and the are ardent
followers of Thirthankaras, they built mandirs for Hindu Gods. One
among them is Maneswar Chokanda Mahadev Mandir. There are many
inscriptions relating to the mandir and they adequately bring out
the fame of the mandir. The very fact of the existence of
Saivaaradhana in a region dominated by the predominance of Jainism,
speaks volumes of the glory of Hinduism. Saivagama puja is performed
in this ancient mandir and it is attracting devotees through out the
year.
It
is in the modern town of Bhadreeswar in Cutch.
