TIRUVENNINALLUR - TIRUTATKONDA NATHAR TIRUKKOVIL

This famous temple was called in the past as Tiruvarthurai. The venerable Saiva pravakta santanachar lived and dedicated 'his life to the service of Lord. Siva disguised as an old brahmin went to a nearby village at the right time to stop the wedding of Sundarar so as to utilize his services for the propagation of Saiva cult. It  goes by the name of Manam Tavirtha Puttur, an apt one implying the above Sivalila. It is famous in legend and history too. Many devotees were lifted by Lord's mercy and so serves as a beacon light to the hope lost theists.

 It lies 24 km off Punroti and accessible by bus.
